Monitor all clients’ backups in the Cloud

14.06.2021 Nyon – Actiphy is simplifying the monitoring of backup jobs with a new online portal designed mainly for IT Resellers and Managed Service Providers. Actiphy Portal Service (APS) has been specially designed with IT Channel Partners in mind, to monitor clients’ backup infrastructure and generate reports from a single location on the web. It is a free!

Actiphy Portal Service is a powerful cloud-based help for IT Partners’ daily management of backup tasks. This tool is free of charge and does not require users from switching to more expensive backup licences, as other backup and DR competitors often require.

Service Providers who already use ServerEYE, Solarwind (Acmeo), PRTG Pässler or others to monitor their systems, should continue to use their Remote Monitoring and Management tools as they inspect all areas outside of backup. Should technicians wish to know more details about backup tasks, they can get more information with the APS console. A perfect synergy!

The missing piece for IT Resellers and MSPs.

The existing local console is taken to the Cloud with APS and IT Partners no longer need to use VPN connections to monitor all their clients.

APS completes the Business Continuity offering of Actiphy. It is the perfect addition to the latest free adds-on from Actiphy: automated backup testing (creation, consistency, and backup file bootability) as backup isolation which protects backup files from being encrypted by ransomware once they have been created. What can you already do with Actiphy Portal Service?

  • – Dashboard: General information about the status of agents and storage, and any problems that may have been detected in the past 7 days.
  • – Sites: Create a site to group agents for reporting purposes. The portal was designed with MSP resellers in mind, each site can represent a physical location of agents to be managed, or a company.
  • – Users: Create, remove or temporarily disable users. The current beta version only supports creating users of the type “Admin”.
  • – Licencing: general state of agent licenses and get an overview of license status.

The full version will be released after having taken into considerations all feedback received during beta-testing.

In the event of a backup failure, ActiveVisor displays where the failure occurred so you can address it as soon as possible. System administrators can substantially reduce workloads by monitoring and managing the backup status and configured backup settings for ActiveImage Protector from any location.

  • – Enhanced integration with Active Directory includes selecting specific machines from the list of Active Directory search results and adding those machines to the list of managed ActiveImage Protector systems.
  • – Get notified when new ActiveImage Protector agent-based and agentless installations are added.
  • – ActiveImage Protector agents automatically find and connect to ActiveVisor consoles for ease of use.
  • – Push install ActiveImage Protector software patches and updates to save time by initiating deployments from a single location.

The updated build version 6.0.2.1507 was released in EMEA on 1st of March 2021.

ESET to Lead Linux Malware Workshop and Showcase Groundbreaking Amazon Echo KRACK Research at RSA 2020

Bratislava, Slovakia – January 23, 2020 ESET, a global leader in IT security, today announced a number of activities at next month’s RSA Conference 2020 (February 24-28 in San Francisco). 

ESET Malware Researcher Marc-Etienne M. Léveillé will lead a main stage workshop titled “Hunting Linux Malware for Fun and Flags.” The 50-minute workshop will take place on February 27 at 1:30 PM at Moscone West 3002. Attendees will learn to fight real-world Linux malware targeting server environments and to search for malicious processes and concealed backdoors in a compromised web server. Several examples of malware will be demonstrated with increasing layers of complexity, from scripts to ELF binaries with varying degrees of obfuscation.

ESET Senior Malware Researcher Robert Lipovský and Senior Detection Engineer, Štefan Svorenčík will present a 30-minute session on “Kr00k: How KRACKing Amazon Echo Exposed a Billion+ Vulnerable Wi-Fi Devices” on Wednesday, February 26 at 3:00pm PT at Moscone South.
